SAFENOWPROJECT and Kidz-IDz Join Forces to Promote Child Safety

KANSAS CITY, MO - July 1, 2008 - As proponents of child safety, SAFENOWPROJECT and Kidz-IDz have joined forces to help protect our nation's youth by providing valuable child safety and protection resources to parents.

SAFENOWPROJECT is working with sheriffs and police chiefs to provide all citizens with a free, hard plastic, Child Photo ID & Medical Emergency Card with Electronic ID. Because the ID Card includes valuable medical information in addition to important personal data, it not only helps reunite a lost or missing child with their loved ones or group, but also is helpful in the event of a medical emergency. Specifically, each fully customized ID Card is imprinted with:

  • Child's color photo
  • Child's first initial & last name
  • Child's date of birth, height, & weight
  • Child's eye color, hair color, & gender
  • Child's medical conditions and allergy info
  • Emergency contact name with three phone numbers
  • Optional medical release section

According to Margaret Bullens, Founder and Executive Director of SAFENOWPROJECT, "SAFENOWPROJECT's founding principles focus on promoting safety as daily habits through targeted prevention. SAFENOWPROJECT is excited to have teamed up with Kidz-IDz, so that together we can provide that extra layer of safety. By taking part in the free ID program, families demonstrate their commitment to safety by taking a proactive approach to safety education and preparedness."

In addition to the free Child Photo ID Card, citizens also receive a free Electronic ID. An Electronic ID is recommended as the fastest solution for transferring key information in the event of a missing child episode or a medical emergency. It enables parents to store their child's photo and descriptive details on their home computer, and includes other helpful files to help prevent and react to an emergency. The ID Card and Electronic ID, valued at $30,00, are free at www.kidzidz.com/safenowproject. A reduced shipping & handling fee is applied.

According to Michael Pouls, founder of Kidz-IDz, "We are very excited to be working with SAFENOWPROJECT, as our new relationship will bring more safety awareness, and educational products, to our customers. SAFENOWPROJECT shares our goal of encouraging proactive attitudes and behaviors, to help thwart the problems of abuse and violence, in today's increasingly dangerous world."

SAFENOWPROJECT's mission is to create, promote and advocate community-based strategies and resources to eliminate child sexual abuse. This national 501c3 nonprofit organization is headquartered in Kansas City, MO.

Kidz-IDz is a leader in child safety. For more information, please contact Mindy Hershorin at 610-520-2012 or mhershorin@kidzidz.com.
