content Frequently Asked Questions

If you have a question for Kidz-IDz, please review the Frequently Asked Questions below. You may click on any question to review the answer. If you have not found an answer to your question, please submit your question by clicking here. One of our helpful Customer Service Representatives will respond shortly.

01.    Is Kidz-IDz a non-profit organization?
Kidz-IDz is a company incorporated in the state of Pennsylvania and is not a non-profit organization. Kidz-IDz strives to:
  1. Provide educational aids that teach children and their families how to make smart decisions that will help them avoid and escape situations that may threaten their well being.
  2. Arm parents, caregivers, and educators with prevention tools and resources to help thwart unintentional injuries and missing child episodes.
  3. Offer unique and effective identification products that enable parent and law enforcement personnel to react and respond swiftly, accurately, and thoroughly, should a tragedy ever occur.
02.    How many ID Cards should I purchase?
Kidz-IDz recommends maintaining three ID Cards for each child in the family. One for Mom to carry in her wallet, a second for Dad or another caregiver to carry in his/her wallet, and a third for your child to carry in their book bag or pocket (or, for younger children, to wear safely around their neck on a breakaway safety lanyard/necklace).A fourth ID Card may be appropriate for school use, such as while on field trips.

03.    Is the data I provide about my child secure?
Yes. The data provided about your child is kept on a secure server in an encrypted format using the same technology that your bank uses to keep your financial data secure. Information collected on your child is kept for no longer than 30 days after the ID Card has been made. After 30 days, your child's information is destroyed. This is so we can verify the information and recreate the ID Card should a correction need to be made within the 30-day time period.
04.    Why does the ID Card have only the child's first initial and last name?
Predators often try to make a child believe that he or she is not a stranger. One way to do this is to call out to the child by his/her first name. Therefore, for security reasons and to prevent familiarization, Kidz-IDz only imprints the child's first initial with last name on ID Cards.

05.    What forms of payment does Kidz-IDz accept?
We accept personal checks and money orders made payable to "Kidz-IDz." We also accept VISA, MasterCard and American Express. If paying by credit card please provide the card number, expiration date, name as it appears on the card, signature, and date.
06.    Do I need to send a picture of my child?
While you are encouraged to provide a photo of your child, your child's ID Card will be produced even if requested information was not submitted, including a photo. If you do not provide a photo of your child, the Child ID Card will still be valuable, as it will contain your child's important personal information, medical conditions, allergies, an emergency contact with three phone numbers, and an optional medical release section.

07.    Will you return my child's photo?
Yes. The photo will be returned with your completed order.
08.    How long will it take to receive my order?
You should receive your order within 4-6 weeks from the date it is received in our Processing Center. If 6 weeks have past, please click here to request the status of your order.
09.    How often should I renew my child's ID Card?
Safety experts recommend that children under ten should automatically renew their ID Card every six months, whereas older children should renew their ID Card every twelve months. In between these automatic renewal periods, you should update your child's ID Card any time the photo or data on the card becomes obsolete - such as a change in your child's appearance, emergency contact information, etc.
10.    I already paid for an ID Card Kit. The instructions in the kit indicate that I have to pay a shipping &           handling fee. Is this fee extra?
Yes, the shipping & handling fee is in addition to the cost of the Enrollment Kit.
11.    What is an Electronic ID?
The Kidz-IDz Electronic ID provides parents with a template to store a photo and important personal information about their child on their home computer. The information stored in the Electronic ID is more comprehensive than the information found on the ID Card. It includes a Child Profile Sheet, a list of missing children agencies, guidelines on what to do if your child is missing, and other helpful files. Transferring these electronic files is one of the quickest methods of getting critical information to the police, and into the national child recovery systems, if need be.
12.    How do I gain access to my child's Electronic ID?
A link to access the Electronic ID template was included in the letter that accompanied your ID Card. You may also click here. You will notice that you may update your child's Electronic ID as frequently as you wish. You may also save it to any medium you wish (hard drive, CD Rom, etc.).
13.    What is Kidz-IDz' mailing address?
